About my spindle

It is indeed an Ashford.

I learned to spin on this spindle and that may give it more affection than any other spindle I may ever own. I like the weight of it and its length, but at the same time I'm not a huge fan of its length either. When I'm spinning it bumps into things as it gets lower and sets off the spin, this happens quite frequently as I am just barely 5'1" and that 1" is probably the shoes. Although when the spindle is loaded with yarn it comes in handy very well when I'm winding on and need somewhere to hold. All in all I like it and it's mine and I will keep it forever even if it breaks, but if it doesn't I may teach my own future children to spin with it. Ahh, nostalgia, don't you love it?
